Tanner “TJ” Strunk has extensive experience working in sell-side, buy-side, and operational roles across Wall Street. Prior to Cayside, TJ served as an equity research analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) in New York City, where he specialized in the energy sector, providing in-depth analysis and stock recommendations on companies across North America.

TJ previously worked at Cowen & Co in NYC as a research analyst across several industries, including Marine Shipping and Transportation, Integrated Oil, Refining and Marketing, and Oil and Gas Exploration and Production. TJ worked at UBS in operations, managing processes from account opening and service level coordination to performing due diligence on agent banks and monitoring compliance within bank and regulatory standards.

TJ has passed the NASD Series 63, 65, 7, 86, and 87 certifications. He graduated as a Merit Scholarship Award Winner and Dean’s List honors from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) with a B.S. in Business Management and an M.S. in Financial Engineering and Risk Analytics. TJ also played collegiate football at Northeastern University and RPI, serving as team captain and earning 2x All-Academic honors.

TJ currently lives in Tequesta, FL, with his wife, Elizabeth, and sons, Ryder and Tanner. He enjoys fishing, golf, football, and spending time with his family. TJ attended high school locally at The Benjamin School, where he still holds several school records in multiple sports, and his football jersey is retired into the hall of fame.
